Nashville General Store Employee Doesn’t Take Too Kindly to Armed Robbery Attempt

Nashville Shooting

It’s quite likely that not even that many North Carolinians know of the small town of Nashville, a town of just over 5,000 that lies 35 minutes east of Raleigh. However, if you caught the news last week you may have heard of an incident at the town’s Four Points General Store in which an employee of the store had a choice altercation with an armed robber.

The incident occurred last Monday at around 9:00 in the evening when an as of yet unnamed employee of the Four Points General Store was standing behind the counter and saw a man dressed in blue, with his face covered by a blue stocking cap. This masked man then quickly produced a handgun, demanding the money from the employee’s register.

However, even with a gun pointed at him, the employee remained calm and confident, likely due to the fact that he had an ace in the hole, his revolver that was lying in wait around his waist.

The store owner waited for an opportune moment and when he found it, produced his own firearm and shot several rounds off in the direction of the criminal. These shots ringing around the store and the criminal himself caused the now terribly distressed robber to run out of the store quicker than he even came in.

Police quickly arrived on the scene to find that the store owner was not injured, but that the thief was gone. Police K-9 units attempted to find the man, hoping the dogs could catch onto a scent if the robber was injured, but at this point, there have still been no arrests made in the case.

So if you have any information about this case, people are asked to call the Nash County deputies at 252-459-1510. Because while our store owner is safe, we need to help make sure that he and other residents in Nash County are safe as well.
