A Greenville, South Carolina man was arrested after throwing knives at his roommate on Saturday afternoon.
Officers were called to a home on the 1000 block of Anderson Rd. at around 1 p.m.
According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s office, 43-year-old Daniel Sanchez-Altamirano was involved in a dispute with his roommate which he had apparently initiated. The argument finally ended with Sanchez throwing several large kitchen knives at his victim.
Sanchez’s aim was poor, but his roommate’s was not. The victim produced a handgun and fired, striking Sanchez in the leg.
Sanchez was taken to the hospital and treated for the non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg.
According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman, Ryan Flood, the victim responded in self-defense and there has been no new information about any charges being leveled against him.
Sanchez was charged with First Degree Assault and Battery and booked into Greenville County Detention Center. He has since been released after posting a $15,000 bond.

Even if you trust your roommates, buying a quality door and lock to your room will help ensure your safety and the security of your belongings. But, make sure to keep the door locked and the key on you and not hidden somewhere in the home where it could be discovered or you might as well not bother.
