JUSTIFIED: Winston-Salem Store Owner Shoots Robbers

A Winston-Salem police report has been released stating that one person is dead from an armed robbery at Coliseum Bingo and Games last Wednesday.

Police say shots were fired at around 5:00 in the morning inside the business at 2804 University Parkway, injuring two people with one dying at the scene.

According to a release, two men entered the business and threatened a manager and people inside with handguns.

The night time manager, a 63 year-old man, whose name has not been released for his own safety, also had a gun. Police said there were shots fired between the manager and the robber, Deshaun Rashaud Fisher McCullum. The manager was shot in the shoulder in the ensuing firefight and Fisher McCullum was also shot by the manager, and then police say the suspects ran from the scene.

But Fisher McCullum did not get far from his crime scene. He was found 300 yards from the business where he died as a result of his injuries.

The manager was taken to a hospital and has non-life threatening injuries.
